This project has been a very difficult and a very stressful one for me and for my Staff. We were asked to produce a Wedding gown in less than 10 days (supposedly) but we ended up making it in 10 days tops. Still, not bad pa rin.

The inquiry came on a Wednesday before holy week, i think that’s March 12. Ms. Mila, Ninang of the bride and Glenn, Father of the Bride arrived about 10 in the morning. It was an impromptu meeting. Eventually, i found out they needed a gown before they leave for Malaysia on March 29. The bride, Jennifer, is in Malaysia and will get married there. Ms. Mila would want a custom made gown for her soon-to-be inaanak and it’s gonna be her gift for her. I was given several printouts of gowns she liked and her measurements. That was all I have.

From the pictures of Pronovias gowns they printed, I came up with several sketches - designs which i thought translated the OVERFLOWING ideas they gave me. So they chose 1. and this is the rough sketch.

Aside from that, they wanted me to alter a Pronovias Gown (I love pronovias gowns! i soo love it!) which Jen bought on sale and of course, produce the bridal accessories that follows her motif.

Everything happened so fast. Friday, I bought the materials. their choices were Organdy Jusi over duchess satin in Ivory color. After that, we had it patterned and cut. The following day it was sewn. It took about a couple more days to sew. The ninang had the fitting because their measurements were very close. There were adjustments and it was fitted again on thursday (maundy thursday) .. yessss…. we were working on this holiday. but we took friday, saturday and sunday off. Come monday, we had the lace scallops (provided by ms. mila) embroidered on the hem and on the veil. Tuesday till friday, 3 beaders were working on it…

Friday, an hour before they picked it up, I’ve decided that this gown needed a pictorial session of its own because of 2 reasons. it’s our baby, and we don’t know if the bride will be happy to wear it so we’ll never know if we’ll get pictures of her wearing it. I never got the chance to meet Jen as well.
So here are some snapshots.

Super thanks to my brother for the pictures!

After we’ve successfully delivered it, we were so happy!!! And i was very happy of the outcome. it looks like a sister gown of my Spring design in the past. Kudos to our team!

The elation lasted for a couple of hours. after which, i had to attend to my other bride for her wedding the following day. This time, I’m her Wedding planner =P

Len and Kirby’s wedding is a different story.=D
