I’m currently recovering from my fever, and the only part of my body that doesn’t seem to feel any pain are my finger tips. So I’m blogging away!

Doing the designs for their wedding was extra special. Sheila has been a good buddy and became one of my good friends in the choir when I was in high school. I think Jec was the one who introduced us and believed that we will ‘click’ as good friends because of one common denominator - ANIME.

And so we did became good friends since then, and we even joined the first ever cosplay event in the Philippines hosted by AXN. And on that eventful day, it was the first time we met Paul. At that time, no one figured that these 2 would someday be husband and wife. :)

I remembered when I was in High School - going to college (but I don’t know if my memory serves me right) Sheila told me: “When I get married, you will design my gown.”

8 years later.. I was designing and making her gown. Not only that.. her entire wedding entourage and Paul and his dad’s suit as well. =)

Sheila’s gown is made of Spanish lace, organdy, with Georgette as underlay, and of course, glass beads and Swarovski Crystals. Base on her pegs, she really like the romantic look, which was shown using the classic serpentine cut and lace detail. I derived the neckline detail after I’ve seen one of her pictures cosplaying Padme Amidala of Star Wars Episode 2.

Paul’s design is a classic suit, with a silver jacquard satin vest and silver tie to match Sheila’s romantic look.

Mom’s design were goddess inspired (and also inspired by eli saab’s design) hehe.. i won’t deny it.. he inspired me so much especially with the detail!

And for the entourage, based on the motif they want, it’s a contemporary take on a Japanese inspired design. Main accent are embroidered silk cut outs. And for the little girls, a modified obi.

How come di parepareho inspiration? Think cosplay. hehe… that’s why!

Bottom line, I’m so happy for Sheila and Paul, and feel super duper grateful for allowing me to demonstrate my creativity in their formal attire.

If you ever get married again, make sure to call me anytime! I’ll be delighted! hehe..
