Took place last January 3, 2009 - Manila Cathedral and Mandarin Oriental

This is the first wedding where I got to use my Lumix LX3 camera.. hehe..

Karl and Marie where one of my overseas clients. They reside in Australia, and we constantly communicated thru chat and emails. I was so excited for their wedding, because they are one of the very few couples who dared to use black and white as their motif - not that they are ‘goth inspired’, Marie just liked the idea of it - and I, personally, loved the idea as well. (they should’ve been one of my unbridaled clients.. hehe)

We did Marie’s Gown, Karl’s Barong suit, all the barongs and the gowns of the entourage, including Marie’s dad and their moms.

Though the designs of their gowns were not my originals, we did our own versions of the gowns and barongs marie and karl wanted.

And what was challenging with their order were…

  1. Karl and Marie and some of the entourage are based in Australia
  2. Karl’s relatives who are part of the line up are based in Daraga - Bicol Province
  3. There was even 1 groomsman who was based in baguio

Bottomline, no one was based in manila.. =P

And the production took place mostly during December… and we all know last december, that our president GMA announced a less than 2-week holiday…. so that meant, only had a few days of day off during that time since their wedding was on January 3, our first wedding of the year.

So we had our fittings, a week before Christmas, on the 24th and on the 28th. Good thing I was able to fit most of Karl’s entourage last November during our trip to Bicol (since John and I went to visit my relatives there after our wedding.)

yes it was a good thing - because we got extra time to adjust most of the gowns/barongs of our australia-based entourage…. because there were some inconsistencies with the measurements sent so we had to adjust several gowns and barongs. But good thing Marie and Karl’s measurement were just fine… at least their attires were already ready and we didn’t need to worry about it that much.

And even during the day before, we fitted one of the groomsmen and the barong was VERY VERY loose… so we had to adjust it again and had the attire ready the morning after.

And so, my whole staff were there to assist.. their were i think we provided 20+ attires all in all.

After the reception, we wanted to stay longer, but me and my staff were already groggy and tired… so we went home to rest.

Thank you Marie and Karl for trusting us to do your attires! It was fun, crazy and a happy wacky experience all throughout!
